A message from Labour's candidate for Sandwich in the KCC elections

Labour candidate David Pestell ran a vigorous campaign in the Sandwich division, a Conservative stronghold.  However, recent years have shown a strong and growing presence in the area and, despite an overwhelmingly Conservative vote, Labour came in second.  There's still everything to play for and because many of those Labour votes fall within the South Thanet constituency when it comes to the general election, the hard work of the Sandwich team during the KCC elections will undoubtedly have helped build the Labour vote come June 8th.

A message from David below:

I would like to thank all those of you who so generously and cheerfully gave your time and effort to campaign for me in the County Council elections.  I was so proud of the leafletting and canvassing team that we put together.  Sadly, there is a tide in politics currently which seems to be flowing very much against us and we did well in adversity to keep our flag flying and to make our presence felt with a clear second place. Once again, thank you all.
