Charlotte Court is a little oasis in Ramsgate town centre that many local people don’t know about it. Charming and tucked away, it is being used recently by rough sleepers – another sign of our housing and homelessness crisis in Thanet and all over the country.

It’s become overgrown through lack of maintenance by the council.  Our member, Raushan Rahman has made several complaints to local councillors but so far, no action.  Fed up with this, Raushan and comrades decided to take matters into their own hands. Raushan said “I’ve taken it on board myself and decided to look after the place and make it nicer and more accessible for the community and visitors.”

So it was great to see Raushan and her crew out this weekend really making a difference. Yes, we know that the council have an obligation and we need to keep reminding them of that but sometimes Labour members think it’s just as important to get stuck in themselves.

Well done!
