What is a ‘surgery’ for a councillor?
It’s basically your chance as a resident to speak to your councillor. You might want to discuss personal circumstances, community issues, residents’ concerns.
Newly elected Labour councillors for Newington ward in Ramsgate, Karen Constantine and Susan Kennedy, want to make sure that residents get regular opportunities to come and speak to them.
Regular surgeries at the Labour Office, 28-30 Newington Road, Ramsgate, CT9 6EE will be held at the end of each month, on the dates below, from 10.00am until midday.

To speak with Karen or Susan, just come along. The surgeries are nothing formal and you’ll be guaranteed a warm welcome and cup of tea or coffee.
You may have a specific problem or concern in relation to your work. Do you know your rights? Do you need help with an issue at work?
Simon Warley, LLB, a lawyer and Karen Constantine, Senior Trade Union Officer, will be running drop-in sessions specifically to help and advise on employment issues. These additional surgeries will take place on:

Residents wishing to contact other Labour councillors can do so from our People page by clicking on the name of the Councillor. Cllrs Campbell, Fenner, Johnston and Matterface are all experienced councillors of longstanding and most residents are aware of how to contact them personally.
Where residents have no Labour Councillor in their area Iris ,as Vice Chair of the North Thanet Labour Party , is happy to see them at her monthly surgeries.
The Labour Office on Newington Road is staffed on Mondays and Thursdays between 10.00am and 1.00pm. Any resident with the South Thanet constituency is more than welcome to drop in. We can provide you with information about the local Labour Party, put you in contact with your councillor(s) and point you towards any support/guidance if appropriate.
