North Sandwich residents go to the polls this Thursday and, in a traditionally solid Conservative seat, have the exciting opportunity to vote for a fresh voice on the council.
Labour's candidate, Sara Trillo, is a local resident, an artist and teacher and a married mother of two. She was born and brought up locally and has always lived in the area. Sara knows what the local issues are. Sara wants to bring a fresh, younger understanding of those local issues to Sandwich Town Council, a council that many complain has grown complacent.
Sandwich branch have undertaken a vigorous campaign in support of Sara and have been delighted with the response on doorsteps and in the town centre. There has been real relief from residents that they have a Labour candidate to vote for. Some residents have spoken about having to be a 'secret' Labour supporter in Sandwich. Well, as we know, the huge upswing in membership shows that Labour is a growing presence in Sandwich and with one Labour councillor already, we all hope that Sara will be able to join David Wood on the council from Thursday.
Sara's campaign has been supported by members from other branches. Anyone wanting to help on election day, please get in touch with your local branch secretary.
