South Thanet CLP votes to support Jeremy Corbyn in leadership contest

South Thanet Constituency Labour Party held its nomination meeting on Thursday evening, 28th July, in Ramsgate. The meeting was for the CLP to decide on which of the two candidates in the Labour Party leadership contest it would choose to support.

By an overwhelming majority, the CLP endorsed the leadership of Jeremy Corbyn.

In a secret ballot, 25 votes went to Corbyn, 2 to Smith and there was one spoiled ballot paper.

The actual election will be decided by individual members who will be able to cast their votes shortly.
