Everyone in South Thanet Labour would like to say a big thank you to all those residents who voted Labour in the Northwood by-election.  Despite achieving a 4% swing to Labour, this wasn’t enough to win the seats for us.  However, we fought a strong campaign and it was great to see new members out canvassing and learning the ins and outs of election campaigns.

With our NHS chronically underfunded, with a national housing crisis and a desperate local housing crisis too, with the swingeing cuts to services imposed due to an austerity policy that morally bankrupt as well as financially ineffective, there is a real need for the Labour Party to speak for ordinary people.  We recognise that need and continue to work hard in our communities to build the trust in and commitment to our values and our party.
